Synopsis:

In the fall of 1989, student Franzi moves to Berlin with little more than her backpack. From her old apartment right next to the border crossing, she can see into the East and discovers Sascha on the other side of the Wall. He is a border guard against his will. In order to get a place at medical school, he had to sign up for three years with the People's Army. Franzi and Sascha fall in love and arrange secret meetings. But love in the days of the Wall is watched – on both sides of the Wall. How fortunate that Sascha's childhood friend Uschi looks so much like Franzi. Unnoticed, the two women swap their East-West identities. Finally, Franzi can stay overnight, but their rendezvous is discovered. Their love has no chance, but then the Wall falls...
