Synopsis:
Jed and Chloe are mentally disabled. They live happily in a seemingly perfect, fairy-tale-like artificial world: Niceland. But when Jed's girlfriend Chloe dies in a tragic accident, the young man's world falls apart. Desperate and disoriented, he sets out on a quest to find meaning in life.
This search leads him to Max, an idiosyncratic outsider who lives in a junkyard and sees things a little differently. An unusual friendship develops between the naive Jed and the disillusioned Max, in which they teach each other what it means to live, love, and let go.
With poetic images, whimsical humor, and quiet melancholy, Niceland tells of the search for meaning in a superficial world – and of how true life often begins where you least expect it.
