Synopsis:
17-year-old Chandani from Sri Lanka has an unusual dream: she wants to become a mahout, an elephant handler. But according to centuries-old tradition, this is a profession reserved exclusively for men. When a small injured elephant (Kula) is brought to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela National Park, it marks the beginning of a special friendship between the two. If she manages to integrate the animal into the herd, her father Sunamabanda – chief mahout at the orphanage and known throughout the country as an elephant whisperer – will train her to become the first female mahout in Sri Lanka.
